TDF, the FM and DAB+ broadcast operator, and Radio Screen, the data distribution platform for digital radio, announce their partnership. The aim is to help radio stations get started with DAB+ broadcasting, which is expanding across the country, by offering an enhanced radio program.
As part of the partnership, TDF is giving its DAB+ customers the opportunity to test the Radio Screen service for several months.
Radio Screen's service enables radios to display and manage customizable visuals and photos simultaneously with the audio program.
This enables radio stations to illustrate music, presenter contributions and advertising messages on the screens of vehicles equipped with compatible receivers. Radio Screen has a catalog of artists' images, associated with millions of music titles, and manages all visual broadcast rights for its users. Last but not least, TDF has developed an interface enabling the data streams delivered by Radio Screen to be taken over.
As an industrial partner to the publishers - the radio stations - TDF is a technical expert,
by offering its customers a complete range of services (program collection, encoding, multiplexing, transport and broadcasting in DAB+ format) as well as being a multiplex operator.
In addition to the associated data - artist images, photos, etc.- which enrich the listening experience, DAB+ technology offers high sound quality and a wider range of free radio services.
To enjoy DAB+ radio broadcasts, you need a radio or car radio equipped with this technology.
Franck Langrand, Managing Director of TDF's Audiovisual BU said:
We are delighted to be partnering with Radio Screen, which will provide our DAB+ customers and their listeners with an additional quality of service. TDF is committed to supporting its customers, the program publishers, to best meet their needs. To do this, we draw on over forty years of expertise in radio broadcasting, and offer a complete DAB+ package ranging from feed collection and headend, to signal transport via our entire existing network, and of course broadcasting.
