Following an arson attack on the night of January 11-12, two street cabinets were severely damaged, cutting off the fiber optic link to more than 350 Meriel households.
Drawing on the long experience and expertise of the TDF Group, Val d'Oise Fibre teams immediately mobilized to replace one of the two cabinets in its entirety and restore the other, which had been badly damaged. Since Wednesday January 19, both street cabinets have been operational again, and services have been restored.
OUR TEAMS REMAIN MOBILIZED IN THE FIELD
Thanks to the mobilization of the Val d'Oise Fibre teams and their partners, the first internet connections were restored in less than two days after the fire, on the afternoon of Friday January 14 for the first households. A solution was also found immediately to re-establish FTTE business links a few hours after the incident, in particular the connection to the town hall.
All internet service providers were informed of the situation and quickly intervened to restore the necessary equipment, enabling the 350 homes and businesses affected to benefit from an internet connection once again.
HIGH-SPEED BROADBAND, AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE FOR THE POPULATION
Despite the damage caused by this criminal and intolerable act, Val d'Oise Fibre's top priority is to meet its commitments, particularly with regard to service restoration times. In the current health context, more than ever, access to very high-speed broadband is essential for individuals and businesses alike.
The TDF Group and its project company Val d'Oise Fibre, along with its delegating authority Val d'Oise Numérique, salute the mutual support of all those involved, who are working together to restore operational services as quickly as possible (law enforcement agencies, service providers, partners, etc.).
Val d'Oise Numérique and Val d'Oise Fibre urge residents to be extremely vigilant to prevent and avoid these acts of malice, and to report any damage to the network via the alerte-thd-95 application.
As is always the case in such circumstances, a complaint has been lodged with the gendarmerie, and an investigation is underway. Val d'Oise Numérique and Val d'Oise Fibre are mobilizing all the resources at their disposal to ensure that such incidents do not mar the success of the fiber optic rollout.
