TDF has just been officially chosen by the Syndicat Mixte Ouvert Val de Loire Numérique to deploy and operate fiber optics in the Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher departments.
Initiated and supported by the Syndicat Mixte Ouvert Val de Loire Numérique, this project involves the installation, over five years, of 306,000 connections serving 513 communes. These will provide very-high-speed Internet access to residents and businesses in both départements. By 2022, 100% of the region will be served by ultra-high-speed fiber-to-the-home (FttH).
This third success confirms TDF's strategic position as a new entrant in the fiber market. It also enables the company to continue and move forward with its project to provide digital coverage to rural areas, in order to boost their attractiveness, particularly in economic terms.
In the next few days, TDF will set up a company dedicated to this ambitious digital development project, as a delegate and partner of the Val de Loire local authorities for the next 25 years.
