Neoen (ISIN Code: FR0011675362, mnemonic code: NEOEN), France's leading independent producer of exclusively renewable energy, has signed a 62 MW Corporate Power Purchase Agreement with TDF, a major infrastructure and digital network operator in mainland France and the French overseas territories. This is the first Corporate PPA signed in France by Neoen and TDF.
Under the terms of the contract, TDF will purchase the electricity and guarantees of origin generated by the Salernes (16.8 MW, Var) and Boussès (45.1 MW, Lot-et-Garonne) solar power plants, starting on January 1, 2026, for a period of 15 years.
For TDF, this Corporate PPA will make it possible to supply a significant proportion of the electricity consumed by its telecommunications and audiovisual broadcasting sites with green energy. This initiative is part of the Group's overall approach to corporate social responsibility and reducing its carbon footprint.
The two solar farms, developed by Neoen in consultation with local elected representatives and stakeholders, will start construction in 2023, with commissioning scheduled for 2024 for Salernes and 2025 for Boussès. Their annual production is estimated at nearly 83 GWh. They are 100% owned and operated by Neoen.
In addition, the Boussès park will make it possible to rehabilitate a degraded and diseased forest environment (windfall formation, xylophagous beetles, Fomes attacks). As part of the forestry compensation scheme, 86.2 ha of healthy trees (including deciduous species) will be planted in the Lot-et-Garonne department, more than double the area cleared.
Guillaume Decaen, Neoen's Development Director for France, comments:
"We're delighted to announce the signing of our first PPA in France, and we'd like to thank TDF for their confidence. With nearly 1.3 GW in operation or under construction, we were already the independent leader in France in government tenders. Thanks to the size of our project portfolio, we are now entering the corporate PPA market with great ambition.
Olivier Huart, Chairman and CEO of TDF, said:
"We are proud to enter into this structuring partnership with Neoen, a recognized French player in the field of renewable energy production. Optimizing our energy consumption and developing new sources of supply are among our priorities in meeting the challenges of reducing our carbon footprint. More than ever, the environmental emergency and energy crisis we are facing must lead industrial players like TDF to rethink their energy needs and consumption. This implies a lasting transformation of our habits and the way we consume energy, as well as our uses.
Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, continues:
"New Aquitaine is France's leading region, with 26.6% of its final energy consumption accounted for by renewable energies. In the face of the energy crisis, I wanted to turn this potential into an asset for the economic players in New Aquitaine. I am therefore delighted that the initiative taken by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region to accelerate the signing of Green Corporate PPAs, or purchases of renewable, local, short-circuit electricity, is in line with the TDF Group's Corporate Social Responsibility commitments. And I hope that this innovative approach can serve as an example to improve the energy competitiveness of companies and accelerate their transition."
Xavier Barbaro, Chairman and CEO of Neoen, concludes:
"I would like to congratulate our team on signing this first Corporate PPA in France. With this type of contract, we enable our customers in France and around the world to secure their long-term supply of green electricity at a structurally advantageous price, which for them is both a competitive factor and a means of reducing their carbon footprint. France, where Neoen's story began, is a key country for Neoen: we are proud to meet the demands of our customers, both governmental and private, and to play an ever more active part in the decarbonization of our country and our industry."
