TDF is taking advantage of the summer period to carry out maintenance and painting work on its television and radio broadcasting facilities at the Eiffel Tower.

To allow operations to run smoothly, FM and DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) services, provided by TDF, will be interrupted for several hours over three (or even four) nights:
- on the night of July 25 to 26 (from 0:15 to 5:30)
- on the night of July 26 to 27 (0.15am to 5.30am)
- on the night of August 1 to 2 (from 0:15 to 5:30)
- possibly, on the night of August 3 to 4 (from 0.15 to 5.30 a.m.), depending on the progress of the work

A certain number of FM programs will continue to be broadcast during the works, thanks to replacement transmitters that will take over relay broadcasts on the same frequency.

The work carried out over the summer will ensure that twelve million people in the Paris region enjoy the highest quality FM and DTT programming, broadcast 24/7 from the Eiffel Tower. Some thirty public, private and community radio stations and nearly forty DTT channels (free and pay) are broadcast by TDF from the Eiffel Tower.

Operations requiring unique operational excellence

More than twenty TDF technicians and contractors will be mobilized during these nights of work.
Time will be of the essence to complete the various maintenance operations, which are impossible to carry out during the day for reasons of service continuity and safety.

Technicians will inspect the DTT and FM antennas by climbing to the top of the tower, over 300 meters above sea level. They will carry out technical checks, visual inspections, measurements and, where necessary, equipment replacements.

As part of the ongoing campaign to paint the monument, and in harmony with the new DAB+ antenna installed in March, TDF will be painting the DTT antennas "Eiffel Tower brown".

Emergency stop and energy tests will also be carried out.
