TDF publishes its progress report on the United Nations Global Compact

The TDF Group, a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2014, has published its Communication on Progress (COP), illustrating its commitments and results for 2019 in terms of promoting and respecting Human Rights, international labor standards, the environment and the fight against corruption.

Bridging the digital divide

In the field of Human Rights, in 2019, TDF maintained its commitment to reducing the digital divide, by supporting local authorities and maintaining its ambitions to deploy telecoms infrastructure, fiber and towers for mobile telephony. In addition, via the broadcasting of Digital Terrestrial Television and radio, TDF provides the French with a universal service that offers free, anonymous and simple access to information and culture.

Innovative solutions to encourage local employment

From the point of view of professional integration and training, the initiatives undertaken in 2018 for training in fiber optic professions have continued. Two mobile technical platforms were financed to offer an innovative training solution for fiber optic professions. Made available free of charge to training organizations in Loir-et-Cher and Indre-et-Loire, these mobile structures are designed to encourage local employment by supporting both companies that need skilled personnel to roll out infrastructures and also the career paths of people in professional integration who can thus benefit from job opportunities.

Promoting gender equality in the workplace

In terms of international labor standards, 2019 saw the signing of a new agreement on gender equality in the workplace and parenthood. This agreement, signed for a three-year period (2020-2022), supplements the existing set of measures with innovative measures in favor of parenthood. The gender equality index of 92/100 illustrates the dynamism of TDF's human resources policy in this area, which has been in place for several years.

Produce renewable energy to power its sites

From an environmental point of view, TDF continues to study and experiment with renewable and hybrid energy solutions to power its production sites. In 2019, this has led TDF to install solar shading systems at some of its sites.

Training to fight corruption

In the fight against corruption, TDF continued its training initiatives, with 420 employees now trained. In addition, an audit carried out by an independent firm validated the compliance of the TDF Group's Sapin II anti-corruption system.

Olivier Huart, Chairman and CEO of the TDF Group, comments: " The Covid-19 crisis has increased our creativity and solidarity with each other tenfold. We are honored to be able to contribute our skills, expertise and technical know-how to the collective effort. Again in 2020, I am proud to renew TDF's commitment to support the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact and to bring it to life within our corporate social responsibility policy. "
