TDF publishes its Communication on Progress

In 2020, despite the health context, TDF pursued its activities and its commitment to social, environmental and societal issues.

The TDF Group, a member of the United Nations Global Compact since 2014, publishes its Communication on Progress (COP). Corporate commitments illustrated once again this year - a particular year marked by the global pandemic - by actions in terms of promoting and respecting Human Rights, international labor standards, the environment and the fight against corruption.

Planning the region to reduce inequalities in digital access

In 2020, TDF kept its commitment to reducing the digital divide. Terrestrial radio platforms proved their resilience during the health crisis. The French prefer free, anonymous and accessible digital terrestrial television and radio (FM and DAB+), all the more so during the successive confinements. TDF has also stepped up the deployment of telecoms networks to provide mobile and fixed-line coverage throughout mainland France and the French overseas territories, particularly in rural areas.

Encouraging local employment

TDF promotes local employment in the areas where it deploys optical fiber through its training centers. Although the fiber optic training programs initially scheduled for 2020 have been affected by the hazards of the confinements, TDF and its partners have mobilized to continue and reschedule the training programs in line with health constraints.

Protecting employees and promoting gender equality
TDF's priority is to protect its employees. The company is committed, via its managers, to supporting them on a daily basis, keeping them informed and maintaining the link that is so essential between teams. In addition, as a socially responsible company, TDF has not sought public aid and has not implemented short-time working.
2020 was also the year of implementation of the new agreement on professional balance between women and men, signed the previous year, with in particular adherence to the Parental Act.
TDF continued to welcome young interns and work-study students into its teams, and continued to support associations working to promote gender equality and diversity.

Reducing the carbon footprint of Group activities

TDF has drawn conclusions from the solar shading experiments begun in 2019 and has decided to equip one hundred telecom towers with photovoltaic shading starting in 2021. This marks a further step in reducing the carbon footprint of the Group's activities.

Training to fight corruption

TDF strengthened its training program. Training sessions continued and were adapted to the health context thanks to online training.

Olivier Huart, Chairman and CEO of the TDF Group, states:

The TDF Group is continuing on its path as an increasingly responsible company in the service of the digital coverage of the territory, so necessary to the population. In 2020, TDF's activities were never interrupted. TDF has succeeded in implementing new ways of working to maintain the link with its employees, customers, partners and suppliers, while guaranteeing the safety of everyone involved. Again in 2021, I am proud to renew TDF's commitment to support the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact and to bring them to life within our corporate social responsibility policy and among our teams.
