CPPA (Corporate Power Purchase Agreement) signed in 2022 between TDF and Neoen
Supported by TDF and Neoen, the project was made possible by a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) signed between the two companies at the end of 2022. The principle: TDF undertakes to purchase all the electricity produced by the Boussès solar power plant (i.e. 47.9 MWp) from January 1, 2026, for a period of 15 years.
Decarbonizing most of our electricity consumption in New Aquitaine
The Nouvelle Aquitaine region, France's leading renewable energy region, has been a partner in the project from the outset, since TDF won a call for expressions of interest launched by the regional council. Today, the region wishes to highlight TDF's approach in Boussès, to convince other major companies in the region to follow this model, and thus see the emergence of new power plants in the region.
The Boussès solar farm will supply most of the electricity consumed by TDF's broadcasting and telecommunications sites in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region with green energy.
This initiative perfectly embodies the TDF Group's commitment and global approach to social responsibility and carbon footprint reduction. "Responsible digital isn't just a commitment on paper, it's actions, and that's precisely what we're doing here at Boussès," explained Antoine-Paul Savelli, Director of Infrastructure, Operations and Energy.
Since 2019, 221 photovoltaic shades have also been installed at the foot of the Group's telecoms pylons, 86 of them in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region alone.
The Boussès solar power plant in figures:
Plant surface area: 39 ha (surface area of the commune of Boussès: 4,700 ha including 4,400 ha of forest)
Forestry compensation: 86 ha of healthy trees planted in the Lot-et-Garonne department
Solar panels: 83,000
Capacity: 47.9 MWp
Start of construction: March 2024
Estimated annual production: 55 GWh
