TDF is the victim of a serious act of malice at its Laval site
The TDF site in Laval-Changé (Mayenne) was the target of a serious act of vandalism on the night of October 25 to 26, 2022, which caused the 90-meter tower dedicated to radio broadcasting and mobile telephony to fall. The site's infrastructure was also damaged. In all, almost 150,000 residents of Laval and the surrounding area are partially deprived of radio. Cell phone services have also been seriously affected. TDF has lodged a complaint and is actively working with the relevant authorities.
All TDF teams are hard at work putting temporary solutions in place to restore radio broadcasting and mobile coverage for the population as quickly as possible.
The damage affects the availability of:
o FM radio stations: Fun radio and RTL2;
o 3G/4G/5G networks (Free, Bouygues, SFR and Orange).
TDF regrets this situation. TDF's experts are actively working, in close collaboration with all customers, radios and operators, on a complete analysis of the site's infrastructure and on the implementation of all temporary solutions to restore services as quickly as possible.
TDF strongly condemns this deliberate attack on equipment essential to the population
This deliberate act, which fortunately did not result in any injuries, caused extensive damage to infrastructure. The damage has seriously compromised services that are essential to the people of Mayenne, for isolated people or the routing of emergency communications, but also for information and cell phone communications.
TDF trusts the competent authorities to bring the investigation to a swift conclusion.
