- COMMISSIONING OF FOUR NEW MULTIPLEXES FOR DAB+ DIGITAL RADIO
- LAUNCH OF EXPERIMENTAL DAB+ BROADCASTING FROM THE EIFFEL TOWER

TDF is helping to accelerate the rollout of DAB+ digital radio in France, with the commissioning of four local or regional multiplexes in the Poitiers, Orléans and, this summer, La Rochelle areas.

Since DAB+ kicked off in 2014, TDF has deployed more than 60 broadcast transmitters, broadcasting around 100 programs in DAB+ in major cities such as Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Nice, Toulon, Avignon and Annecy. Inhabitants of the areas served can now benefit from high-quality sound, improved listening continuity on the move, and the arrival of new radio stations.

Experimentation launched for DAB+ from the Eiffel Tower
To coincide with the Fête de la Radio and the Paris Radio Show 2022, TDF is launching an experiment to broadcast a DAB+ program from the Eiffel Tower.

Last March, TDF carried out a technical operation at the top of the Eiffel Tower to install a DAB+ antenna by helicopter. Designed by TDF experts, this new antenna dedicated to digital terrestrial radio broadcasting will provide optimum coverage for the 12 million inhabitants of the Paris region.

TDF at the Paris Radio Show 2022
TDF, a major player in radio broadcasting, will be present at the Paris Radio Show (stand H), the leading trade show for radio, on June 2 and 3 in Paris (La Seine Musicale, Boulogne-Billancourt).

As an industrial partner to radio publishers, TDF supports its customers in broadcasting FM and DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting or Radio Numérique Terrestre) radio throughout France.

For the Paris Radio Show, TDF has developed an event portal dedicated to the show.
Available on June 2 and 3, the portal enables visitors to the show - via dedicated High Density Wi-Fi - to take advantage of all the resources (podcasts, conferences, radio programs, masterclasses, and other applications...) offered during the event.

Since 2017, TDF has been providing Wi-Fi coverage at La Seine Musicale thanks to a hundred ultra-high-performance terminals spread across the site, with on-demand configurations available for each event.

Olivier Huart, Chairman and CEO of TDF said:

"TDF is a major player in radio broadcasting in France. As a fervent defender of this medium, we are committed to supporting our customers, the program publishers, to best meet their coverage needs."
