TDF announces the acquisition of French company Ad Valem Technologies, a leader in the live transmission of major sporting and cultural events. This acquisition concerns 100% of the capital of Ad Valem Technologies SAS.
Founded in 2008, Ad Valem designs, deploys and operates a unique live TV transmission technology, complemented by a wide range of media services (IPTV, OTT, etc.). Thanks to the combination of fiber optics and satellite, Ad Valem offers TV channels reliable and flexible connectivity solutions to guarantee the broadcasting of the most critical events.
Ad Valem 's services are based on an infrastructure comprising an optical network, 2 teleports, and a fleet of hybrid fiber/satellite vehicles to transmit images on both transport channels. More than 60 stadiums, as well as other major broadcast venues, are already connected to this high-speed network.
Thanks to this acquisition, TDF, leader in digital transport with its Ultra High Speed Network (RUHD), which has more than 450 access points throughout France, has acquired new expertise in the field of TV broadcasting. For Olivier Huart, CEO of TDF, " this acquisition is a key step, enabling TDF to broaden its expertise and enhance its service offering. Ad Valem is a key player with unique know-how that complements that of TDF".
Until now, Ad Valem has been 64% owned by co-founders Marc Kapustin and Laurent Maurin, and 36% by investment funds Ventech and A+ Finance.
"I am delighted with this decision, seven years after the creation ofAd Valem. It opens a new chapter in the company's history and marks the recognition of its technological excellence. With TDF, Ad Valem will draw on the capabilities of a leading group to develop its services for a greater number of customers and continue to deliver the highest levels of quality on the market" commented Marc Kapustin.
