Edge Data Centers: a strategic challenge for the region
Edge Data Centers play a crucial role in providing local hosting for sensitive data and low-latency applications. They also provide localized computing power, essential to support the growing digital needs associated with the introduction of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital twins and virtual reality.
To date, TDF has five regional Data Centers in Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Marseille and Rennes, more than a hundred mini-Data Centers already operational, and a pool of eligible sites throughout France. The Group's strategic objective is twofold: (1) to increase the number of local Data Centers in major French cities, to offer better accessibility and optimized services to businesses and local authorities, and (2) to continue to develop and offer mini-Data Centers tailored to the needs of mobile operators, businesses and local authorities.
Roland Chedlivili and Jean-Louis Mounier, co-CEOs of TDF's TowerCo BU, say: "We wish Rémi every success in his new position. He will play a key role in developing and implementing our growth strategy in the Data Centers/Edge sector. Thanks to him, we'll be able to expand our presence across the country and develop our offering to meet the specific needs of our customers. Our aim is to make TDF a key player in the local Data Center sector in France.
