A new organization around three activities.
To strengthen its position as a neutral operator of digital infrastructure and networks in France, TDF is now structuring its activities around three Business Units. This evolution enables us to better respond to the specificities of each sector, taking into account their market dynamics, operating models and growth prospects.
- Towerco Business Unit: a key player in mobile infrastructures
TDF is strengthening its role in the deployment and operation of telecom infrastructures for mobile networks. With over 8,800 sites (pylons, towers, roof terraces) across the country, the Group supports operators in extending and optimizing mobile coverage, in response to growing connectivity needs. The Group continues to expand its infrastructure to meet the connectivity needs of operators, institutional and corporate customers using all types of technology, and local authorities. Thanks to its territorial roots and industrial expertise, TDF plays a key role in reducing white zones, densifying urban networks and supporting the rollout of 5G.
- Audiovisual Business Unit: a benchmark operator for TV and radio broadcasting
TDF, a major player in audiovisual broadcasting in France, guarantees reliable, high-quality access to television and radio services for millions of households in mainland France and its overseas territories. A leader in innovation, TDF is committed to upgrading the DTT platform to Ultra High Definition (UHD), and preparing for the services of tomorrow with mobile TV (5G Broadcast) and the virtualization of video services. The Group is also continuing to roll out DAB+ digital radio throughout France.
- Connectivity and Edge Business Unit: a new Business Unit to serve new digital uses
To meet the growing digital transformation needs of its customers, TDF is creating a third Business Unit dedicated to connectivity services and Edge infrastructures. This entity brings together several fast-growing strategic activities:
o Indoor: deployment of mobile networks inside buildings to ensure optimal coverage in complex locations (shopping malls, stations and subways, offices...).
o Edge and Datacenters: development of a trusted, local infrastructure to process data as close as possible to usage, reducing latency and improving the performance and security of digital services.
o Private Mobile Networks (PMN): development and deployment of secure voice and data communications solutions for business-critical applications in industry, transport, energy and services.
With this new organization, TDF is strengthening its position as a leading industrial player in digital infrastructures and networks. Thanks to its unique infrastructure assets, its territorial coverage and its industrial and technical expertise, the Group is supporting the digital transformation of territories and businesses throughout France.
