INTERXION HOLDING NV (NYSE: INXN), one of Europe's leading providers of carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral colocation data center services, and TDF, a partner to media and telecom operators, today announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership combining hosting and connectivity. The two groups will leverage their complementary infrastructures, services and expertise to meet their customers' national and international needs.
With a nationwide presence, TDF has 4 data centers (called ProxiCenter) certified ISO 27001 by Bureau Veritas Certification, located in Lille, Bordeaux, Rennes and Aix-Marseille. Thanks to this unique coverage, Interxion can extend its geographical footprint and offer its customers points of presence in the provinces. Conversely, TDF can support the international expansion of its national customers by drawing on Interxion's 40 data centers in Europe.
In France, Interxion has 8 data centers, including 7 in the Paris region and 1 recently inaugurated in Marseille. By combining their expertise, TDF and Interxion are able to offer their customers dual-site services to ensure business continuity and recovery, should the need arise.
As part of this partnership, TDF is also providing Interxion with connectivity solutions based on its Ultra High Speed Network. Comprising 5,000 km of fiber optic cable, the network covers the whole of France, carrying voice, data and video flows at speeds of up to 100 Gb/s. Secure data transmission and quality of service are ensured by a loop architecture and supervision from the Romainville Operations Center. TDF offers its customers the benefit of 40 years of expertise in the operation and supervision of networks with high real-time constraints. For international customers wishing to establish themselves in France, TDF redirects traffic to an Interxion point-of-presence, which can then take over within its data centers.
Last but not least, TDF can draw on the community of operators present in Interxion's Marseilles data center to give its customers access to key markets in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Companies in the healthcare sector can also count on ASIP (Agence des Systèmes d'Information Partagés) approval to host personal healthcare data (covering all of Interxion's 8 data centers in France).
Several Interxion sites have already been connected to TDF's ProxiCenter and Ultra High-Speed Network. As a result, the two companies are now in a position to offer their customers a combined end-to-end, totally secure offering.
"This partnership is based on real synergy. By combining our strengths, we are able to offer our customers a true package that combines our operational excellence with TDF's proven experience and expertise. By joining forces with TDF, we gain access to their vast community of companies in the digital sector. This is a key core market that we are supporting in the digital revolution," explains Fabrice Coquio, President of Interxion France.
"It's a real asset for us to be able to rely on a key player in infrastructure management in Europe, demonstrating real operational excellence, particularly in data center design and management. This partnership enables us to support our respective customers in their outsourcing or expansion projects, by providing them with a complete, highly secure architecture for routing their data. In addition to the security equipment and procedures in place, our ProxiCenters are governed by French data protection law. This is a key criterion for our international customers wishing to set up or expand in France," continues Christine Landrevot, Director of TDF's Telecoms and Services Division.
