Testimony of Louis Donnet, Mayor of Domazan

Landowner - lessor

Who are you and what do you do for a living?

I'm Louis Donnet, Mayor of Domazan, elected since 2008 and Mayor since 2014. I'm married with three children and I'm also an engineer at the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA) in Marcoule.

What's involved in working with TDF?

We started working with TDF in 2017, via an operator who wanted to improve 4G coverage along the TGV line adjacent to the site. We responded favorably on two conditions: - The first was that we could improve coverage in the commune, which had been deficient until then. - The second was to preserve the landscape, and so we wanted the antenna's power supply to be buried so as not to have poles near the village. Following this first operation, we continued the process and, as part of the government's New Deal program, asked the operators to prefer this tower to installing a new one in the village. Since 2022, we have benefited from three new operators, helping to reduce the digital divide in the village.

Have you been approached by any financial players?

Yes, we were approached in 2021 by financial players, but wishing to preserve our collaboration with TDF, we didn't follow up.

How would you describe TDF's support?

This support has been effective. In a relatively short space of time, compared with our initial expectations, we were able to provide the entire population with satisfactory and very satisfactory mobile coverage in the commune.
