Since the arson attack on January 11, TDF teams have been working day and night to ensure that the population of Limoges and the surrounding area can once again benefit from all Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) channels. The arson attack on TDF's Limoges-Les Cars site on the evening of January 11 deprived almost 1.5 million people of DTT, radio and cell phone services.

DTT has been covering Limoges and the surrounding area (Haute-Vienne, part of Charente, Dordogne, Corrèze, Vienne and Creuse) since late afternoon. All channels are broadcast. However, broadcast quality may still be impaired in some remote areas. Full coverage will only be restored in the coming weeks.
To ensure the best possible service, TDF recommends that DTT users perform an automatic or manual channel scan on their TV sets.

For radio, France Inter, France Bleu Limousin and France Bleu Périgord will resume broadcasting from the Limoges-Les Cars transmitter at the end of the week. The other Radio France stations, France Musique and France Culture, will continue to broadcast from TDF's other transmitters until next week.
By Tuesday morning, temporary solutions had been found and put in place less than twenty-four hours after the fire. TDF restored broadcasting of the five FM radio stations (France Inter, France Musique, France Culture, France Bleu Limousin and France Bleu Périgord) with partial coverage from other TDF transmitters. Despite the damage caused by this criminal act, TDF's priority was to restore broadcasting as quickly as possible.

TEAMS REMAIN MOBILIZED AND WORK CONTINUES

The damage to infrastructure was considerable. Equipment is badly damaged. A large quantity of equipment, from all over France, has been dispatched to replace what is no longer in working order. Technicians and experts are currently installing the new equipment, which requires precise preparation and adjustment. Complete restoration of the Limoges-Les Cars site will take several months.

TNT AND RADIO: ESSENTIAL SERVICES FOR THE POPULATION

In the current health context, more than ever, these services are essential for the population, particularly for isolated and vulnerable people.
TDF salutes the mutual support of all those involved, who are working together to restore operational services as quickly as possible (TDF teams, service providers, partners, etc.).

Olivier Huart, Chairman and CEO of TDF said:

"I strongly condemn this criminal act. As always, our priority has been to restore DTT and radio services for our customers and the general public as quickly as possible and in the best possible conditions. In the current health context, more than ever, these services are essential, especially for isolated people. I am extremely proud and grateful for the efforts made by TDF's teams. I salute everyone's mobilization, mutual aid and solidarity."
