Val de Loire Fibre and Val de Loire Numérique are installing a fiber optic network and a wifi network for the Nuits de Sologne 2022.

On Saturday, September 3, 20,000 visitors to the 2022 edition of Les Nuits de Sologne benefited from ultra-high-speed wi-fi coverage, thanks to Val de Loire Fibre and Val de Loire Numérique. The teams connected the site to fiber optics, which, combined with wifi, provides users with high-performance connectivity and secure browsing.

The "Val de Loire wifi public" network is one of the most extensive public networks in France, with 543 wifi hotspots spread over 180 covered areas in the Loire Valley.

Fiber deployment continues

In Lamotte-Beuvron, which hosted the event, Val de Loire Fibre has already built 1,300 of the 3,000 fiber optic connections planned by the end of 2023. The same number of homes and businesses can now take out subscriptions with the operators present on the Val de Loire Fibre network.

Construction of the fiber optic network in the Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher departments is on schedule. Every week, 2,500 outlets are built. To date, more than 190,000 of the 320,000 outlets have been connected.

About Val de Loire Fibre

The Val de Loire Fibre project company, a subsidiary of TDF and Banque des Territoires, was formed in January 2018 to roll out, operate and market the fiber optic network in the sparsely populated areas of Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher under a public service delegation launched by the open-ended Syndicat mixte Val de Loire Numérique. This FttH (fiber-to-the-home) network for consumers and businesses will eventually serve 320,000 outlets in 513 communes. Ultra-high-speed broadband will contribute to the economic development and overall attractiveness of the Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher départements. Val de Loire Fibre welcomes a number of partner ISPs to the network, offering the population a choice of the best fiber optic conditions and services on the market.
