TDF training center in Baugé-en-Anjou: Objectif Fibre announces that the technical platform complies with its recommendations

On Monday November 25, Marc Leblanc, President of Objectif Fibre, will visit TDF's training center in Baugé-en-Anjou and formalize the conformity of the technical platform, in the presence of Cyril Gasc, Managing Director of TDF's fiber division, Philippe Chalopin, President of the Anjou Numérique syndicate and Hugues Wallet, Managing Director of Anjou Fibre.

TDF, via its subsidiary Anjou Fibre, has three training centers dedicated to fiber optic professions, located in Baugé-en-Anjou, Segré-en-Anjou Bleu and Doué-La-Fontaine (in partnership with AFPA). These structures help to develop employment in Maine-et-Loire and confirm TDF's commitment to professional integration and training.

Compliance declared by Objectif Fibre

The technical platform at the Baugé-en-Anjou training center joins the list of 43 technical platforms already compliant with Objectif Fibre requirements. It is also the only one that does not belong to a training organization.

In addition to training, this compliance program enables trainees to take their exams in the fiber professions at TDF's technical training center in Baugé-en-Anjou.

Objectif Fibre ensures the availability of quality training throughout France by certifying organizations that meet stringent specifications. In particular, this label guarantees a common technical and educational reference base.

Inaugurated last February, the Baugé-en-Anjou training center comprises classrooms and indoor and outdoor technical facilities, enabling us to offer both theoretical training for returning to work, and real-life apprenticeships in fiber-related professions (fitter, cable puller, etc.).

Meeting the labor needs of the fiber industry

Since the opening of TDF's training centers, nearly 55 people with no access to the job market have undergone training. 27 of them have been recruited by our partner companies involved in fiber deployment.

During the training courses attended between 2018 and 2019, at the Baugé-en-Anjou training center, 42 people completed internships with 11 partner companies, and 18 of them were hired by telecom network companies.

In addition to the newly-trained trainees, our subcontractors and local companies also benefit from our centers to enhance the skills of their employees.

Participating in the rollout of fiber optic infrastructure is an exceptional professional experience, serving a major project to strengthen the economic attractiveness of the region, particularly in rural areas. The rollout of fiber optics is contributing to the development of new activities in the fields of health, education, the environment and more.

The 100% fiber project in Anjou

The Anjou Fibre project company is responsible for deploying and operating the fiber optic network in low-density areas of Maine-et-Loire. A subsidiary of TDF and Banque des Territoires, Anjou Fibre aims to play a key role in the digital development of Maine-et-Loire, serving local authorities, businesses and the people of Anjou. The deployment of fiber will provide a faster, more reliable Internet connection, with speeds of up to one Gigabit per second. Between now and 2022, the project will see the installation of 220,000 outlets, providing residents and businesses in 100% of the region with a very high-speed Internet connection.

Cyril Gasc, Managing Director of TDF's fiber division, commented : " Having been entrusted with the deployment, operation and marketing of the fiber network in the rural areas of Maine-et-Loire, TDF is now mobilizing the region's resources. We are actively involved in developing employment in Maine-et-Loire thanks to our three training centers, and we are proud to now have a technical platform that complies with Objectif Fibre's technical recommendations.
