On July 1, 2020, Arnaud Lucaussy, General Secretary of TDF, takes over the presidency of Broadcast Networks Europe (BNE), the trade association of European terrestrial audiovisual broadcasters. Arnaud Lucaussy succeeds Josep Ventosa of Cellnex Telecom.
Headquartered in Brussels, the association has seventeen members operating in nineteen European countries. It is dedicated to the promotion of Digital Terrestrial Television and radio. DTT is a television reception platform providing universal, free-to-air and privacy-friendly access to the 250 million Europeans who use it. TDF has been a member of the association since its creation in 2010.
As President of Broadcast Networks Europe, Arnaud Lucaussy is committed to contributing to the development and enhancement of terrestrial broadcasting, both radio and digital terrestrial television. Many European countries, including France, are planning ambitious DTT modernization projects, notably in the direction of Ultra High Definition and interactivity.
Arnaud Lucaussy, General Secretary of the TDF Group, comments: " It's an honor for me to represent the association's seventeen European broadcasters. I'll be keen to promote the interest and modernity of Digital Terrestrial Television and radio in Europe. With the confinement linked to Covid-19, European citizens have voted in favor of terrestrial broadcasting, which has demonstrated its importance and universality."
