He tells his story

Benjamin, Deployment Manager

From technician to deployment....

"I joined TDF on April 1, 2016 for an 18-month fixed-term contract in the Operations Division as a technician in the Alpes Nord team. I then signed a permanent contract in the same position until early 2021 when, out of a desire for discovery and professional ambition, I applied for an open mobility offer as a Deployment Activity Manager. Since June 1, 2021, I've been working in this position at the Towerco BU in Lyon.

Have you moved? If so, how did you go about it?

Living in the Grenoble area, the question of moving to be closer to my new place of work arose. Following the advice of my colleagues, I started researching on the intranet, where I learned about the mobility assistance offered by TDF. Thanks to this information, I was able to plan my move to the beautiful city of Lyon. The human resources department listened to me all the way and was able to inform me and support me in this change of life. Whether it was logistical, practical or financial, all my questions were answered. It goes without saying that this support and the assistance offered by TDF reinforced my decision, without which this move would have been very complicated.

Have you encountered any difficulties in achieving mobility?

"The challenge of taking on this new position, and the need to develop my skills, was a major challenge. The job and my lifestyle were no longer the same, so it took me some time to adapt. Nevertheless, the team I joined, my managers and other colleagues were able to support me and listen to me during this period. It was vital that my skills development and my integration into the team were a success. We kept in regular touch with each other to discuss my new position, my skills development, our shared expectations and our feelings. This support and obvious commitment enabled me to successfully complete the three-month probationary period before being appointed to the CAD position.

How are you coping with the change of job at the moment?

"One year on from this change of life, I'm still learning and thriving in my new role. My background as a technician and my knowledge of the field are real assets in my job and a support for my team. In fact, we make sure that knowledge is passed on between the different areas of expertise, which helps us to build real cohesion and achieve our common goals. We've also established a real relationship of trust between the various collaborators and developers. It's a human dimension that's very important to me, and I believe it's essential to project management. I particularly appreciate the trust placed in me by my managers, which further strengthens my sense of belonging and recognition.

A final word on this experience?

"This mobility has enabled me to discover another facet of my company and of myself. It's a real turning point in my career, and TDF has supported me brilliantly! I'd also like to thank the people who have supported me throughout my career at TDF and who, I have no doubt, will recognize themselves in what I've written.
