Telecommunications site in Contes

50 years of TDF history

storytelling telecommunication site

Always at the heart of the action, as here at Contes, in the Alpes-Maritimes, TDF teams work on antennas, towers, telecoms masts, transmitters, datacenters... and carry out deployment, network life and maintenance activities. Since the late 1980s, TDF has accompanied the growth of mobile networks, working with SFR from the very start. Thanks to its unique network of high-rise sites, TDF has established itself as a key player in connectivity in France. In 2001, the company acquired the sites of Bouygues Telecom, reinforcing its strategic role in infrastructure deployment.

The acquisition of ITAS in 2016 ushered TDF into a new industrial phase. Responding to operators' challenges, the company then massively built over 1,300 towers in just five years. The Group now relies on its plant in Beauzelle (31), guaranteeing large-scale production. This initiative is a response to the growing need for denser 4G and 5G networks, essential for an increasingly connected world. Thanks to its robust infrastructures and expertise, TDF continues to play a major role in the development of telecommunications in France. An essential contribution to the advent of cutting-edge mobile technologies, facilitating access to ever more efficient services.
