"I've been with TDF for 25 years. I joined in 1996 and worked as an audiovisual and telecom maintenance technician for three years before moving overseas to La Réunion. This gave me a lot more responsibility and autonomy. A few years later, I wanted to return to a management position in Marseille as head of a maintenance department. I was then asked to take up a managerial position in an operational team in Aix-en-Provence. A year later, I moved to the north of France and worked as team manager in the Picardie area for a team of twelve to twenty people for five or six years. In 2009, I returned to overseas France, where I spent 3 years as deputy to the territorial delegate for Reunion Island, before becoming deputy to the delegate for Polynesia until 2016.
In 2016, I returned to mainland France to take up a position as operational team manager in Pau, for the Aquitaine Sud zone, which includes a team of technicians spread over five départements. For the past year and a half, I've been based in the Paris region, at TDF's head office in Montrouge, as a business engineer in charge of the Bouygues Télécom account. Like all the other moves I've made, the last one was a wish. After twenty years in operational team management or deployment management, I wanted to discover something new. I like to work in several different business lines, in different areas. I'm always keen to understand how the company works. As I work in the telecoms sector, which is constantly evolving, I'm also keen to learn and develop along with it.
However, we mustn't overlook the constraints that mobility can entail. For my part, I've always made my choices as a family, which allows me to be fulfilled in both my personal and professional life. It's also not always easy to leave everything behind and move into the unknown. When I moved to my new job, I had one major fear: that I wouldn't be effective quickly enough in my new position. Also, having worked in several regions, I realized that not all departments operated in the same way. You constantly have to adapt. But if you're patient, everything works out very well. TDF is a great company that offers the best opportunities to people who want to progress.
